Analysis of Motion Lines

The manga I chose is Noragami. In the scene below, we'll focus on the motion lines in the top left corner and bottom right corner.


In the snippet below, you can see I've drawn lines to indicate the motion on the lines. From the motion lines, we can see that the subject is moving away from the 2 girls indicated by the zooming out effect created by the lines. The part of the subject's scarf flowing in the wind at the bottom of the scene also helps indicate the movement that the subject is running away from the girls.


There are 2 scenes below. First the cat, we can see the motion lines indicating it is running away. The 2 curved lines also indicate the motion of the cat as it dodges the human standing on the street.
The next scene with the bus, we can see that the lines indicate the bus is moving quickly towards the 2 subjects. There is a space where there are no motion lines near the subjects indicating a moment of impact.
