FINAL PROJECT
For this project, we are required to create a video.
Guidelines:
Final Project: Cinemagraph - Surrealistic Parallax
After feedback, I made some changes. Making my eyes black and attempting to animate it. I masked a video of a waterfall and added a feather effect around the edges. I then made the hands in the water move up and down as well as rotate slightly. Below is the final still image and animated clip.
FEEDBACK
Week 10:
Wonderful Dreams. A final project inspired from random access memory of the subconscious brain and translate into an digital photography artwork.
SIZE: 1080 x 1920 px (Vertical Video) IGTV
DURATION: 15 second loop
First we were required to create the still image that had some sort of narrative and dream-like feel. My initial idea was not very well put together as seen below. The narrative was that we are sometimes blinded by chasing what we don't have to realize what we do have. And I didn't take a picture of myself to put in here because the idea wasn't quite solid. If was going to put myself inside it was going to be under the tap with my mouth open. But this composition seemed too cheery for my idea.
I made a second attempt at the still image. I showed this to Mr Fauzi for feedback on week 13 and asked for advice on the animation. The feedback can be found in the feedback section below.

FEEDBACK
Week 10:
- That's a good start. You need some time to plan your idea first before the photoshoot.
- Try to take a look more inspiration on Pinterest to find ideas.
Week 13:
- Yeah that's kinda dark but it's cool.
- Yes you may add on waterfall video as overlay to the current waterfall.
- Then you may make the hands to be up and down movement (like slowly drowning)
- Then the your eye's hole can be in white or black color instead of hole.
Week 14:
- I like that the concept is very dark but the music you put in makes it have a calming feel to it.
- Use the key frames to make sure the video can loop because right now the hands seem to jump at the end.
- Make the waterfall not synchronized. Since you used the same video clip it looks like it was copy pasted on both sides.
REFLECTION
Overall, I learned new things like how to use After Effects from this project. Although, I used Vegas Pro to edit the video instead of using Premier Pro. This is because I was just more comfortable using Vegas Pro and had more experience using it too. I found After Effects quite confusing like there was too many things going on on the interface. I had to watch the lecture video a few times to understand what to do and how to do it.
